Looking for a super gîte?

Check out our official website at supergites.nl.

A gîte  is a French holiday home that is available for rent. Gîtes are usually fully furnished and equipped for self-catering. Many owners choose to handle their own rentals, and you can find these by searching online on the multitude of listing sites or by checking with the local tourist information office. [wikipedia]

A gîte is generally an old farmworkers’ cottage or converted outbuilding. This type of holiday accommodation is sometimes regarded as ‘basic’ in terms of facilities; however, some gîtes will have excellent facilities. Now that called a super gîte.

This blog tells the story behind the first Supergîte; on how we got there and how we’re doing today. Happy reading.

  1. Gites can be great for family holidays, especially with young children; self catering can be easier for feeding young children, yet you’ve still got reassurance of the owner being on site if there’s a problem. The beauty of gites is that you can often stay for just one or two nights up to a week or so, and often the gite owners provide home cooked meals as well.

I think one day I would like to stay in your supergite – “If you feel like a rehab or you’d simply fancy a day off, we can arrange a chef. With 8 people at the mill this chef de cuisine from Mouzon will come to prepare a three course meal specially for you” sounds amazing!
